Honour to be part of the hosting team for this workshop organised by the Tropical Conservation and Development Programme and the UF Centre for Latin American Studies in collaboration with Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (Andes Amazonia Programme) This workshop brings together an amazing group of more than a 100 participants focussing their attention and intention in the Conservation and Development of the Amazon. We are meeting for two days to honoured the past and distil what we have learned and look to the future with hope bringing the best we have. We are seeking for future pathways to make the Amazon grow, green and great again.
The Amazon is a complex region where social and economic human activities affect and are affected by byophisical factors. There is a weave of challenges. Using World Cafe style conversation, participants talk about what we know so far? What else we need to know? What are the dilemmas and what the opportunities for the conservation of our beautiful Amazonia!
